The Children's Museum is an interactive educational institution. As children learn and grow, their cognitive skills change dramatically allowing them to consider multiple perspectives and understand increasingly abstract concepts. Primary school focuses on increasing children’s knowledge base and aiding them to adapt to the social structure of their worlds. However, children in the age group between kindergarten and 5th grade continue to use play and interaction as a way of building critical thinking skills. The Children's Museum is a place where school curriculum comes to life. Programming for these age groups serves to extend classroom ideas in ways that include interaction and cooperative learning opportunities. Special exhibits offer chances for teachers to fulfill state learning requirements in creative and significant ways.
