Activities during Our Exploration
- Making Luminaries. The lighting of luminaries are an important and fun part of the Mexican culture and Las Posadas festival. Learn more about the festival by joining us for a story time and activity for tin foil luminary making.
- Making Homemade Tortillas and Salsa. We are doing everything but grinding our own corn as we make these homade corn tortillas and salsa.
- Performance by Joyas Metizas. Presenting Various Regions of Mexico - As a non-profit organization, Joyas Mestizas exists to promote the awareness, appreciation and understanding of the cultures of Mexico/ Latin America. The group functions under the direction of board members and officers who provide the necessary support for the smooth management of the group. The group operates much like a school PTA with a highly involved parent group.
